In my work, I explore color, texture, and mark making. I achieve this by the use of a palette knife or a fine paint brush. My work can either be connected to an emotion or a personal experience.

Artist Bio
About Emily Garcia
Emily Garcia received her AFA at Montgomery College in 2020. Then transferred to the University of Maryland where she received her B.F.A and M.A. Ed. She lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she owns and operates an online art and stationery shop called Wittle Spoonie. Emily’s current work focuses on spreading awareness for chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia. Both paintings and crafts are designed to be relatable, allowing sufferers to feel seen and heard. She also shares her own experiences with the condition. Her other work emphasizes promoting joy and creativity. For the past 3 years, Emily has taken her online shop to over 35 festivals and other events. She participated in the Terp Expo at UMD, and won the community champion - a business that has the most impact on the local community.
Emily Garcia’s current work focuses on spreading awareness for chronic conditions like Fibromyalgia, as well as topics such as SA and homelessness. She shares her stories and experiences allowing sufferers to feel seen and heard. Colors, textures, and texts are all intentional to highlight the realities of these topics.
